Our Heritage

Four decades of
quiet devotion

Norwich Nano Brewers began in 1987 when two neighbors decided that the bread in town had lost its soul. What started as weekend batches in a borrowed kitchen has grown into a beloved corner of Hop Street — but the philosophy hasn't changed.

We still wake before dawn. We still measure by feel as much as by weight. We still believe that the best things cannot be rushed — whether it's a sourdough fermenting for thirty-six hours or a stout resting in oak for six months.

Today, our ovens fire every morning and our brewing vessel hums through the afternoon. The regulars know us by name. The newcomers discover us by word of mouth. And the bread — the bread is always, without exception, worth the wait.

The Craft

Two disciplines,
one devotion

Bread and beer share the same ancient magic: grain, water, time, and patience. We honor both.

Artisan Baking

The Bakery

Sourdough, ciabatta, brioche, rye — each loaf begins with a starter we've tended since day one. Long ferments. Wood-fired finishes. No shortcuts, no compromises.

Small-Batch Brewing

The Brewery

Our nano-brewery produces eight rotating ales and lagers, each brewed in quantities small enough to care about. Hop-forward IPAs. Dark, velvety stouts. Seasonal specials that disappear fast.

We don't make bread and beer to fill shelves. We make them to fill moments — morning coffee with warm croissant, Friday evening with a cold stout, Sunday afternoon shared with people you love.
